My\u015bl\u0119 \u017ce p\u0142yty tej powinien pos\u0142ucha\u0107 ka\u017cdy, kto kocha lir\u0119 korbow\u0105 i dobrego folk-rocka.
\nSt\u00e9phane Durand graj\u0105cy na tej p\u0142ycie napisa\u0142 w li\u015bcie do mnie „Wiesz, na p\u0142ycie nie ma \u017cadnych gitar elektrycznych, to tylko moja lira korbowa…”. Musz\u0119 przyzna\u0107 \u017ce mocno mnie to zaskoczy\u0142o. Ale je\u015bli dok\u0142adnie pos\u0142uchacie, to rzeczywi\u015bcie instrument ten nie brzmi jak gitara.
\nOpr\u00f3cz przesterowanej liry mamy tu te\u017c partie czyste, a tak\u017ce inne instrumenty, kt\u00f3re sprawiaj\u0105, \u017ce Celtic Drone staje si\u0119 art-folk-rockowym projektem. \u0179r\u00f3de\u0142 koncepcji takiego grania szuka\u0107 mo\u017cna cho\u0107by w angielskim zespole Jethro Tull, ale nie wiem czy muzycy zgodz\u0105 si\u0119 z takim por\u00f3wnaniem.
\nAutorem niemal wszystkich kompozycji jest St\u00e9phane. S\u0105 tu zar\u00f3wno weso\u0142e i taneczne utwory, jak „Orokhan”, jak r\u00f3wnie\u017c bardziej nastrojowe, jak tytu\u0142owy „Cosmic Drone”, czy „St. Denis en Valse”.
\nElementy folkowe, to nie jedyna inspiracja, s\u0142ycha\u0107 tu wyra\u017anie, \u017ce mzycy lubi\u0105 jazz, ale nieobce im te\u017c funky (sporo tu po\u0142amanych rytm\u00f3w).
\nZ kolei wst\u0119p do „La Belle Etoile” brzmi jak muzycha organowa, z reszt\u0105 ca\u0142y utw\u00f3r jest podnios\u0142y i patetyczny.
\n„L`Arrogante” i niesamowity mix tego utworu to wprowadzenie liry korbowej w XXI wiek. Doskona\u0142y pomysl na po\u0142\u0105czenie do\u015b\u0107 smutnej melodii tanecznej z odrobin\u0105 elektroniki przyni\u00f3s\u0142 bardzo dobre rezultaty.
\n„Cosmic Drone”, to p\u0142yta zar\u00f3wno dla wielcicieli muzyki celtyckiej, jazz-folku i art-rocka, ale przede wszystkim dla ka\u017cdego, kto chce pos\u0142ucha\u0107 mistrzowskiej gry na lirze korbowej.
\nI think that everyone who loved hurdy gurdy must listen this record. St\u00e9phane Durand, hurdy-gardy player wrote me in letter : „On the cd there`s no electric guitar you know, it`s only my hurdy-gurdy …”. I must say, that I`m very surprised. But if you listen very precisely, you can tell, that this instrument really doesn`t sound like the electric guitar.
\nBeside overdrived hurdy-gurdy, there is also much pieces with clean tones. This, and also other music instruments construct very art-folk-rock sound. I think, that one of sources for Cosmic Drone`s inspiration may be Englis group Jethro Tull, but the musicans may not consent me.
\nAlmost all compositions was writen by St\u00e9phane. There is funny dances (like „Orokhan” for example), but also more ambience tunes (like „Cosmic Drone” or „St. Denis en Valse”).
\nFolk music elements it`s not only one music, that inspired St\u00e9phane Durand i his compositions and arragments. I think, that musicans from Cosmic Drone like also jazz and probably little funky (there is so much `broken` rythms).
\nBegining of „La Belle Etoile” sounds like church-organ theme, whole tune is also very pathetic.
\n„L`Arrogante” (and their amazing mix) takes hurdy-gurdy into 21st Century. There is a fusion of minor dance melody and a little bit of electronic, and it`s give very succesful results.
\nI can recommend „Cosmic Drone” CD for everyone who like celtic music, jazz-folk and art-rock, but in first place for everyone who want to listen mastery hurdy-gurdy playing.
