Holenderska grupa Blue Dew (tu podpisana jako The Bright Side of Life) \u0142\u0105czy umiej\u0119tnie tradycje ameryka\u0144skiego bluegrassu i irlandzkiego folku. Wraz z t\u0105 p\u0142yt\u0105 mo\u017cna m\u00f3wi\u0107 o narodzinach Blue Dew.
\nKwintesencj\u0105 ich stylu jest pierwsza kompozycja, w\u0142a\u015bnie tytu\u0142owa „Blue Dew On Irish Grass”, napisana przez Mariusa Kleina. Bluegrass z wyra\u017anymi folkowymi wp\u0142ywami. Czasem tu te\u017c bywa odwrotnie.
\nDu\u017co tu ciekawostek. Znana piosenka „The Fields of Athenry” nigdy jeszcze nie brzmia\u0142a tak „kowbojsko”. Tak w\u0142a\u015bnie mog\u0142aby zabrzmie\u0107 w knajpach gdzie\u015b w Kentucky. \nZar\u00f3wno wsp\u00f3\u0142czesne kompozycje („My heart’s tonight in Ireland” Andy Irvine`a, „Kilkelly” Paula Jonesa i „Past the point of rescue” Micka Hanly`a), jak i tradycyjne piosenki irlandzkie (wspomniana „The Fields of Athenry”, czy cho\u0107by „Far Away in Australia”) i ameryka\u0144skie (jak „Hot corn, cold corn” czy „When the sun of my life goes down”) brzmi\u0105 tu bardzo sp\u00f3jnie. Ca\u0142y czas wiemy \u017ce to jedna i ta sama kapela.
\nNajlepszy moim zdaniem utw\u00f3r na p\u0142ycie, to pi\u0119kna ballada „Kilkelly”. S\u0105 tu echa Planxty, ale te\u017c Fairport Convention, \u015bwietna piosenka, \u015bwietnie wykonana.
\nMam nadziej\u0119 \u017ce na fali powodzenia tradycyjnej ameryka\u0144skiej muzyki (g\u0142\u00f3wnie dzi\u0119ki muzyce z filmu „O Brother Where Art Thou?”) spos\u00f3b w jaki Blue Dew \u0142\u0105cz\u0105 j\u0105 z europejskimi korzeniami zdob\u0119dzie im wielu zwolennik\u00f3w. Zas\u0142uguj\u0105 na sukces.
